Global Treatise
is an assemblage work comprised of everyday objects — a toiletries bag, shot glasses, fragments of a shattered mirror and travel tags — characterizing repetitive routines of the frequent traveler. Each object carries stories of transience, a silent witnesses to the fatigue and disconnection arising from ceaseless movement. A toiletries bag is imbued with the intimate, routines carried out in impersonal spaces, the shot glasses underpin practiced effort in camaraderie. Travel tags labelled with destinations, symbolize how a relentless pursuit of advancement can be reduced to coded identifiers. Global Treatise examines the personal cost of dislocation, self-commodification and travel fatigue in an era of dissolving geographic boundaries.
